Knight of Rapture -- Ruth A. Casie

The Highlander’s English Woman – Timeless Scribes – December 20, 2016

He refused to fight, but would save her no matter what the cost. To protect him she’d agree to a political marriage. She didn’t know it was his greatest enemy.

Laura Reynolds and long-time friend of Jamie Maxwell Collins are in love. She adores his playful sense of humor, caring nature as well as his strong sense of honor and truthfulness. They have known each other from the time Jamie was a boy and trained with her older brother at their home on the English side of border. Jamie has become an excellent soldier except he won’t fight and while she knows him well, she has no idea why.

Jamie Maxwell Collins lives on the Scottish side of the border. Outwardly, he’s carefree and open, but he hides a dark secret from everyone except Richard, Laura’s older brother. Jamie’s secret is so powerful it could destroy his family and those he cares about. He can’t involve Laura in this deception. He must not give her hope for a future together. He breaks their relationship.

While visiting Jamie’s uncle, Laura stumbles upon Jamie’s secret, but has nowhere to turn. The only person with the answer, her brother is gone, killed on a Welsh battlefield. In her heart of hearts she knows Jamie is innocent. Their relationship in tatters and with no hope of reconciliation, she plays a deadly game to find the truth and exonerate Jamie even though it means agreeing to a political marriage. She has no idea the entire game has been orchestrated by her future husband, Jamie’s greatest enemy.
This full-length novel is a continuation of the novella, The Maxwell Ghost previously published by Ruth A. Casie in Once Upon a Haunted Castle, September, 2016

"Knows how to keep you spellbound with her stories. This one is no exception. From a hero to a traitor; from a heroine to a broken-hearted lass. From a dead hero to a ghost that is still a hero. Oh I did love this journey. Take this journey. You'll love it too!!"
